This site offers a number of basic but commonly-used Java applets for personal home pages. If you want to add a scroll box, lake or fade effect, rainbow text or credit roll, check out this site. A Java clock, space flight effect, "hot chilli" text, and also buttons and banners can be located here. Just copy and paste the code to insert the applet into your page.

Offers a number of free Java applets, which are fully functional and free to use however you wish. Here, you'll find a Java applet for scrolling text, a "tree" menu and two Java games: Alien War and A220 Mission 1. All these applets are available in a handy ZIP file, so you can download them all at once. Some excellent commercial Java is also available at this site.

At CGI2You.com, a free counter, voters poll, message board and guestbook are all provided free of charge, and they're hosted remotely, too. So you needn't have any knowledge of programming or scripting. Just register, then add the code.

Offers free chat rooms to add to your Web site. FreeJavaChat.com is able to provide a 100% free service with no banner adverts or other annoying gimmicks. The CGI Resource Index
Arguably the most visited site for free (and commercial) Perl script resources. This "FreebieList.com favourite" features a searchable directory of free Perl scripts, C++ scripts, links to remotely hosted CGI, documentations, books and even a job advertisement section. Users can rate each script on a scale from 1-5 and leave brief messages for other visitors to read.

Matt's Script Archive is without a doubt one of the most popular CGI resource/download sites on the Internet. Matt has a fine collection of useful scripts, including: "simple search" (allows users to search for pages on your domain), form mail (sends the contents of a form to your e-mail address), free for all links (start your own FFA links page), and many more.

About.com's "Focus on JavaScript" provides a great mixture of scripts and tutorials, all of which are ideal for beginners or advanced "power" users.
